Venus Unfolds the Rose Part 2 has taken me an incredibly long time to complete. As I am writing to you (and simultaneously crafting the pages), it is now 3 years since all this passed, 3 years since I wrote the text and Rosa Ray dramatically emerged into Being.¹

As I write to you now, it is the eve of WXTCH WXMN Rising the 3rd, and I always commemorate that powerful moment on April 23rd, observing how I have changed and transformed along the way. Why has it taken me so long?

Everything has always, already been in place.

Collages have lain upon my altars, scenes and words dancing through my mind, begging me to put them down onto the page. And yet I’ve been blocked, dithering, or taking my sweet sweet time. Creating and recreating. Dusting off the pages, and refining my craft.

Since then, me and Beasty Boy Desmond Blumes’ relationship exploded into a glittering, dazzling puff of smoke. And it was he, my Emperor Patron of the arts, who originally helped the project physically come to fruition.

So in that way, things were put on hold, while I picked up the pieces and began to build my own glorious tower of independence and foundation of grounded power.

You will read more about that in part 3.

I also feel the project needed time to gestate and flower and bloom. As with all magickal workings, it takes time for the effects to really come into place. And that was/is the big lesson of Venus Unfolds the Rose, that things don’t dramatically transform with the wave of a magick wand, in the singular phase of the moon. Seeds need to be carefully tended, leaves pruned, lessons learned.

Three years on, I feel it is only now that I am really stepping into the powers that I had hoped and envisioned during the original WXTCH WXMN rising. Many times over the last 3 years, I once again began to smoke, quit, cleansed, communed with the spirits, went on spirals and exploded with power. It is only now, three years on, that I’ve successfully connected with my body and tuned into this inner magick.

So here we are.

Writing and rewriting, being reminded of the lessons as they unfold.

I am glad that it has taken me so long, and I’ve not forgotten this story, that it’s been a constant presence, walking with me every step of the way.

I’m also very happy to close this chapter, and move onto something new.

For it’s high time that the radical action really begins! Because it is the WXTCHES, not Rosa, who are the true stars of this tale. And things are hotting up out here and we‘re certainly in need of a good dose of collective action & radical wxtchery.

In face of rapid gentrification and the Teslafication of the city, the horrifying rise of the AfD and the quick march towards fascism, repeated cases of transphobic violence, and, most critically, the continued genocide of the Palestinian people, Germany’s unwaivering support of Israel, and the police’s brutal crushing of peaceful protest,

WE NEED OUR WXTCHES MORE THAN EVER.

Our magick, our power to rise up, resist and dream new ways of being is what will give us strength and guide us through the dark of night. It’s time to wield our wands, it’s time to heal and fight.

The Rose continues to Unfold, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
